Jacob's Dad's Employer jumps in to help!

As the economy has hit a down-turn, STG and its employees have been very fortunate. Our business remains strong and we have been able to retain all of our employees without fear of layoffs. Many industries and companies have not been as fortunate. Because of economic problems that are persisting for an extended time, the food banks in the Salt Lake area have been stretched to the limit. There have been many newspaper reports of not enough food to go around as people strive to keep their homes and pay for other necessities of daily life. Because of the hardships of so many of our friends and neighbors, STG is sponsoring a Holiday Food and Winter Clothing Drive. We will also incorporate a Foster Care Toy Drive to help Brandon Call’s son with his Eagle Project. STG will happily match any employee contribution to this cause.

There are a two ways you can contribute. Drop off non-perishable food, winter clothing or new unwrapped toys at the STG office. Please let the front desk know the value of your donation, so that STG will now how to match it. You can also contribute by requesting a paycheck charitable deduction by emailing melanie@stgutah.com with the following information: Amount you wish to donate and which cause you’d like the donation to go to (Food Bank, Homeless Shelter or Foster Care Toy Drive).

So we have passed out the flyers and we are know accepting gifts, from our drive we have 182 gifts. We would like to get more toddler toy because we don't have any but we are good, this week we are going to go to some local retailers for donation, i do not have a set date for when we are going to give all the gifts to jessica. We are also collecting cash donations, then we will go and buy what more gifts that we need. So if you have any to offer that would be great, and i will keep updating this blog every know and then.

We are collecting unwrapped and new toys. they don't have to be toys they can be blankets clothes pillows sports equipment and personal hygiene items. We are also accepting video games that are rated 'E' for everyone.

we are not accepting any game over rated 'E', chocking hazards, and weapons and gore.

I'm doing my Eagle Leadership Project for 'Utah Foster Care Foundation'. I am doing a toy drive for them. You see every year the have a giving tree at Christmas. every kid get to pick 3 gifts. and after Christmas 100 kids go in to foster care in Utah county and the start out with nothing but there clothes after Christmas. So this drive is for those kids who come in late after Christmas.

Jacob Call's Eagle Scout Leadership Project

I am pleased that Jacob has chosed to do his leadership project to benefit Foster kids. Jacob grew up with 19 foster brothers and sisters and they were a very integral part of our lives during Jacob's early years. Jake has promised me some assignments and I look forward to working on them as soon as I get them.
